Meet the Houck Team

Gary L. Houck, Sr.

Chairman/Head Cheerleader

Gary L. Houck is the Chairman/Head Cheerleader of Houck. He has more than 50 years of experience in the restoration, roofing, specialty construction, and real estate industries.

Gary has been a guest speaker and lecturer at numerous university and industry classes, seminars, and events, including Penn State University, The University of Wisconsin, Elizabethtown College, HACC, Messiah College, and others.  He is the founding president of RIL Insurance Company (Roofers Insurance, Ltd.) and a member of their board of directors.  He is a past president and director of SWR Institute (Sealant, Waterproofing & Restoration Institute).  He also has been and is currently a member of various boards including Pennsylvania State University Athletic Advisory Council, NRCA (National Roofing Contractors Association), Messiah College, Commonwealth Bank, Mellon Bank, Liberty Mutual Insurance, HACC Alex Grass School of Business, Penn State University’s Four Diamonds/Hershey Medical Center, the Keystone Sports Foundation, Harrisburg Area YMCA, Firestone/Bridgestone Advisory Council, Sherwood Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Dinner of Champions, American Subcontractors Association, Mid-Atlantic Builders Exchange, and the American Cancer Society. He has also been involved in other civic, community, and industry associations including the Rotary Club, Construction Specification Institute (CSI), and Masonry Contractors Association (MCA), among numerous others.

Gary is a 1973 alumnus of Pennsylvania State University, where he received a Bachelor of Business degree.  In addition, he received his Associate of Arts degree from HACC in 1971 and graduated with honors from the United States Army Finance School at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana in 1968.  Mr. Houck resides in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with his wife, Patricia. They have a grown daughter, Kara A. (Houck) McCaffrey, son-in-law, Kyle McCaffrey, and grandsons, Dean Carter and Miles Declan, who reside in Middleton, Wisconsin. Gary and Patti’s eldest son, and Kara’s brother, Gary Jr., passed away in 2005 at the age of 29.

Kara (Houck) McCaffrey

Chief Wellness Officer

Kara (Houck) McCaffrey is Houck’s Chief Wellness Officer. With a diverse background spanning the construction industry and over a decade in healthcare IT focusing on education and suicide prevention in medical software, Kara returned to her family company with a mission to effect positive change and save lives. In her role, Kara brings a wealth of experience and a genuine passion to making a lasting impact on well-being for those who work at Houck, as well as the entire construction industry. Her commitment is deeply personal, rooted in the loss of her brother, Gary, to suicide in 2005.

A dedicated advocate for mental health and wellness, Kara is a certified mental health first aider, a Vital Cog suicide prevention trainer, and a compelling public speaker on these crucial topics. She is actively engaged in local and national initiatives as a member of the national steering committee for Construction Suicide Prevention Week, the national committee for Workplace Suicide Prevention and Postvention, Keystone Contractor Association’s mental health task force, and Dane County’s Ending Deaths from Despair task force.

Kara holds a BS in Mathematics from Penn State, an MBA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Health and Wellness Management at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. She is the President of The Kids Trust, a non-profit organization that helps children of abuse in Central PA grow up in a happy, safe, and exciting environment, as well as the Treasurer for both the Penn State Alumni Association in Madison and her son’s school PTA.

Kara calls Madison, Wisconsin home where she works primarily remotely and lives with her husband, Kyle, and their two sons, Dean and Miles. At just 8-years old, Dean is already considering his future at Houck and wondering if he’s allowed to change the company name to McCaffrey?

Lin R. Sensenig

CEO

Lin Sensenig is the CEO of Houck. In this role, Lin is responsible for the strategic planning and operations of Houck Group, Inc., and its family of companies.

Lin joined the Houck team with more than two decades of experience in the operational oversight and management of corporate structures. Lin most recently served as Senior Consultant for North Group and previously as President of Champion Group which includes Champion, Moyer Diebel, Bi-Line, and Moffat USA brands and is part of Ali Group North America.

Lin and his wife, Patti, live in Denver, PA with their youngest daughter, Tiana. Their oldest daughter, Katelyn, lives with her husband Matt Stoltz, sons, Wade Micah and Bryce Caleb, and daughter Nora Faith in Quentin, PA; and their middle daughter, Makenzie, lives with her husband, Ben Skiles, also in Quentin, PA.

Joe Seibert

Chief Financial Officer

Joe Seibert is the Chief Financial Officer for Houck. In this role, Joe is responsible for the strategic financial management of all Houck entities which includes Houck Group, Inc., and it’s subsidiaries; Houck Services, Houck & Company, Houck Industrial, Heidler Roofing, LLC, and ACI Construction.

Joe is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and joined the Houck team in 2020. He also has more than three decades of experience in the Harrisburg, PA office of KPMG. Joe served as a Partner for more than 20 years in Audit and Advisory Practices, and in addition to serving his clients, was responsible for practice strategy, personnel, business development, and quality control for the local practice.

Joe currently services on the Board of Directors for Keystone Human Services, Presbyterian Senior Living, and is on the Audit Committee of the Delaware Public Employees Retirement System. Joe is a past President of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and served on the Council of the AICPA.

Mark Oman

Senior Vice President – Industrial/Mechanical

Mark Oman is Senior Vice President of Houck’s Mechanical Industrial Division and predominately handles projects involving Welding, Fabrication & Installation, Millwright & Rigging, Utility, Sanitary & Process Piping, ASME Repair jobs, AWS-certified jobs, Equipment installation & Plant maintenance.

Mark has been with Houck for going on 6 years, overall, Mark has been doing Industrial projects for 36 years. Mark is passionate about solving customers’ problems and being part of a team that works together and gives the client a high-quality of workmanship and always gets the job completed on or before customers deadline in a safe matter.

Mark graduated from Dubois Area High school and went to the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, for MIS (Management Information Systems) and then went to Triangle Tech to earn an Associate in Specialized technology degree for Mechanical Computer Aided Drafting and Design Technology with honors. Also, when Mark was attending school, he worked at C.D. Federici Excavating company operating all large equipment and worked at Bon & Oman Plumbing company as a journeyman plumber.

His favorite way to spend free time is being with his family and grandkids. He is passionate about horsemanship and trail riding in Pennsylvania and going out west on overnight pack horse trips. He enjoys riding horses, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and going to the gym with his Wife.

Mark and his wife Renee reside within ½ hour of Harrisburg, PA.

Matthew Moul

President – Roofing

Matthew Moul is President of Houck’s Roofing Department. He has been with Houck since 2001. In addition to overseeing all-things-roofing, Matt enjoys the challenges associated with the acquisition process and current growth trajectory that Houck is currently undertaking.

Matt is committed to safely completing quality and professional projects for our clients. His many years of experience enable him to lead his team in working with building owners and their representatives to complete projects on time and within budget.

Matt enjoys mentoring and investing in the next generation of roofing professionals here at Houck. He places an emphasis on communication and team collaboration. Providing our folks with opportunities for growth is a high priority for Matt.

He is a graduate of NRCA’s Future Executive Institute and was a panelist in the 2011 Best of Success Roofing Contractor Conference. One particular experience that stands out to Matt, while at Houck, was assisting local Boy Scouts in getting their Metalwork Merit Badges.

Matt and his wife Aimee, live in Thomasville, PA, and have three grown children, Andrew, Sarah, and Kayla.

Austin S. Rhodes

Senior Vice President – Restoration/Industrial

Austin Rhodes is Senior Vice President of Houck’s Masonry Restoration/Industrial Department and predominately handles projects involving joint sealants and masonry restoration.

Austin has been with Houck since 1996, working in the warehouse before moving into an estimator/project management position and then joining the Leadership Team.  Professionally, Austin is passionate about solving customers’ problems and being part of a team that gives the client a high-quality project experience.

Austin is a graduate of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, from which he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and has received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Lebanon Valley College.  Other industry-related experience includes membership in the SWRI (Sealant, Waterproofing, Restoration Institute), and attendance to The World of Concrete trade show.  He began a career at Houck because it combined his interest in construction, finance and business.

His favorite way to spend free time is being with his family or participating in outdoor sports such as hiking and mountain biking. He is passionate about The Kids Trust, a charitable organization that raises money to help improve the lives of children of abuse.

Bethany Tesché

Vice President of Marketing & Client Relations

Bethany serves as the Vice President of Marketing & Client Relations at Houck, bringing over 15 years of valuable experience in marketing, business development, and sales to the table. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Writing and Communication from Pensacola Christian College, she possesses a keen insight into identifying targeted demographics and crafting tailored strategies to engage them effectively.

Her genuine passion for connecting with people has been instrumental in her success in outside sales, networking, and nurturing relationships. At Houck, Bethany embraces the diversity of her role, thriving on the challenges it presents and finding fulfillment in devising solutions that benefit both the company and its clients.

After starting her journey at Houck as a Marketing Coordinator, Bethany has enjoyed the opportunity to progressively assume roles of greater responsibility, culminating in her recent promotion to Vice President. She values the opportunities Houck has provided her to grow and evolve professionally.

When not in the office, on a roof, or at a job site, Bethany enjoys long walks in Palmyra, snuggling with her fur-babies, and burnouts in her 1980 Corvette T-top, Roxy.

Mike Gehman

Senior Vice President – Industrial Electrical

Michael D. Gehman is the Senior Vice President of Houck’s Industrial Electrical Department and has been with Houck since 2021. He oversees all the operations and personnel of the Houck Industrial Electrical Department and all other electrical divisions within the Houck Group of companies. Mike is committed to superior customer service and to providing the proper solution for the clients’ electrical needs.

Mike has over 40 years of experience in the industrial and commercial electrical industry. His tenure at Houck began when the company he previously worked for was acquired by Houck Group. With the backing and support of a solid company, and under Mike’s leadership, the Electrical Division at Houck has more than doubled in size over the last two years. Mike is looking to continue developing customer relationships and expanding opportunities across the board for the Houck Group of companies.

Growing up in Leola, PA, Mike served on the local volunteer Fire Company for 26 years. Later he moved to the Ephrata area, started a family, and became an assistant coach for Ephrata Youth Soccer. In his free time, he enjoys being with his family and friends, hunting, and working around his property. Mike and his wife, Kim, currently reside in the Lititz area.

Marty Cespedes

Director of Human Resources, Safety, & Loss Control

Marty is the Director of Human Resources, Safety, and Loss Control for all the Houck Group Family of Companies, playing a central role in the day-to-day management of HR operations, safety, and loss prevention strategies across our entire organization.
 
Joining the team in July 2021 as a Recruiter, Marty’s dedication and expertise have propelled her to her current position. With a background in engineering and process improvement, Marty brings a unique perspective to her role, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.
 
Originally from Costa Rica, Marty’s multilingual abilities have been instrumental in facilitating communication both internally and during acquisitions, contributing to the seamless integration of new team members and processes.
