Project Overview
The EIFS project in Archbald, PA, involved comprehensive joint sealant replacement and EIFS restoration. This project was critical to maintaining the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of the facility, addressing various issues with the exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS) and joint sealants.
Purpose and Objectives
The primary objective was to remove the existing failed and deteriorated joint sealants and install new, high-quality sealants. Additionally, the project aimed to replace loose sections of EIFS, install new movement control joints, and apply an elastomeric coating to the EIFS to enhance durability and weather resistance.
Scope of Work
- Removal of Old Sealants: Carefully removed the deteriorated joint sealants from the building’s exterior.
- Installation of New Sealants: Installed new, durable sealants to ensure long-lasting protection and prevent water infiltration.
- EIFS Replacement: Replaced loose sections of the EIFS to restore the building’s exterior to its original condition.
- Control Joint Installation: Installed new movement control joints to accommodate structural movement and prevent future cracking.
- Elastomeric Coating Application: Applied an elastomeric coating to the EIFS to provide enhanced weather resistance and durability.
The project team, led by Foreman Chad White, Superintendent Josh Bear, and Project Manager Austin Rhodes, completed the work within the 6-week timeline. The team’s meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality ensured the successful restoration and protection of the facility.
