Project Overview

This project focused on restoring and rejuvenating the church’s exterior stonework. This involved meticulous mimic patching and repointing to address damage and ensure a seamless integration with the original structure, preserving the building’s historical and aesthetic integrity.

Purpose and Objectives

The primary goal was to repair and restore the damaged stone areas of the church’s exterior, ensuring that the repairs matched the existing stonework in both appearance and function, while maintaining the building’s historical character.

Scope of Work

  • Stonework Restoration: Carry out extensive mimic patching to repair and blend damaged stone sections.
  • Mortar Repointing: Repoint the stone mortar joints with a raised flat joint, ensuring a color match with the original mortar for consistency.
  • Visual Integration: Ensure all new work integrates seamlessly with the existing stone by matching colors and textures and performing a final cleaning.

This project was completed over a 8 week timeframe by Gabe Franco, Project Lead and Jeff Scheaffer, Lead Mason. This project reflects our dedication to high-quality restoration and preservation. By addressing both structural and aesthetic aspects of the stonework, our team has ensured that the church’s exterior remains a testament to its historical significance.
